In November 2017 I shall be doing a charity bike ride across Vietnam and Cambodia. 400k in 10 days! I will be raising money for Jessie May ‘Children’s Hospice at Home’.
This amazing charity is almost entirely reliant upon voluntary funding! They currently support families in Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. They supply nurses free of charge to provide support and specialist care to the whole family in their own home (wherever possible) when a child has a life limiting illness from diagnosis onwards!
This is an organised trip so I will be riding with a group of people all raising money for various charities. Whilst some of the money raised will go towards the cost of the trip the rest will go directly to Jessie May!
Although I love to cycle I have not ever cycled quite so far, especially in such a short period of time, so will be doing a lot of training beforehand – up to Severn Beach before work possibly?
So feel free to wave happily at the ‘slightly’ unfit cyclist red, puffing and out in all weather and remind me “It is all in a good cause!”
If anyone would like to support me in my challenge I have set up a ‘Just Giving’ page. I am planning to wear a T shirt highlighting the organisations that have kindly donated towards this excellent Charity! So all donations are greatly appreciated and thank you so much for any support you are able to give (and for reading my long winded request!)
