The Bristol Port Company is delighted to announce that we are looking for Guest Experience Crew volunteers for our 2015 cruise season. We created the “Cruise Bristol” trade from Avonmouth Dock in 2013, handling over 5,000 passengers in the first year. During the 2015 cruise season we expect to welcome more than 10,000 passengers sailing to destinations such as the West Indies, the Black Sea, the Adriatic, Europe, Norway and Iceland. Our employees handle all the parking, baggage and security activities but we have seen that other ports have volunteers who act as “meeters and greeters” to give local flavour. That’s why we are now looking for volunteers to join our Guest Experience Crew and make passengers’ journey extra special.
We like to keep things local – for instance Tony from Avonmouth’s In the Mouth café provides the refreshments in the Captain’s Café at the cruise terminal. So we’re hoping that some people from the local community will want to become voluntary Guest Experience Crew.
Anyone who occasionally has a couple of hours free and wants to use their skills, meet people, gain some experience or just simply has an interest in maritime or the travel industry is welcome to enquire at email@example.com or call Katherine Lovell on 0117 982 0000. All volunteers will be fully trained, given a free uniform and free refreshments. Minimum age 18 – no upper age limit!
