An important aspect is helping local employers know what services might be available to support skills development and training, and to encourage employer uptake where relevant.
An employer survey will be undertaken to assess employers training provision and requirements, recruitment approaches and skills requirements over the next couple of yesrs. Employers interest in supporting this was confirmed. The results will inform:
- SevernNet’s programme in this area for the forthcoming period
- matching of services available to employers needs to support better take up of opportunities such as apprenticeships
- the potential for offering training facilities within the area
Traineeships. A new training initiative was introduced by Government in late 2013. To learn more check out this link to the DofE website which gives a fairly comprehensive picture of the initiative
