SevernNet Working is the project that’s been developed by a number of partner organisations across the area. We’ll be submitting our bid to the Big Lottery managed Coastal Communities Fund on October 14th.
SevernNet Working is the result of several years developing co-operation between businesses across the area with SevernNet and other members of the SevernNet Working Partnership – Ambition Lawrence Weston (Lawrence Weston community development organisation), Avonmouth Community Centre Association, Knightstone Housing, South Glos. Council, Bristol City Council, Social Access and others.
SevernNet Working will deliver a shuttle bus service across the area, a cycle track from Portway Park and Ride along St Andrews Road and Smoke Lane to Cabot Park; will strengthen the business network; and develop two employment and enterprise hubs in Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston which will provide skills and employability training and coaching, job seeking support, work club services, a social enterprise recruitment agency providing job brokerage services together with start-up business support and advice. The hubs will be providing these services to meet the needs of the employers and the residents.
If you support this idea it would be most helpful if you could sign a Letter of Support and send it to Helen Bone (helen@vividregeneration.com) and Kate Royston (kate.royston@severnet.org) by midday on Friday (next week) 10th October. You can download a draft letter here.
