Western Power Distribution (WPD) and its contractor, Balfour Beatty, are modifying their substation on Avonmouth Way and replacing 2km of pylons going north out of the substation with underground cable. This construction activity will take place between spring 2019 and summer 2020.

A ‘No waiting’ restriction (approved by Bristol City Council) has been introduced on the north side of Avonmouth Way from Lescren Way to the cul-de-sac at the end of the road (see map). This will enable contractors to work safely, efficiently and with as little disruption to businesses as possible. We hope this will help to alleviate congestion, and increase visibility and safety for all users of Avonmouth Way.

National Grid is committed to being a good neighbour and want to reassure you that we are aiming to reduce disruption and inconvenience as much as possible. If you have any questions and to find out more about the new connection, please contact our team on 0800 377 7347 or hinkleyconnection@nationalgrid.co.uk.
