Making Asphalt Sustainable – January’s Business Breakfast

BS11 9EN John Wainwright is an end-to-end supplier of premium aggregate, asphalt and contracting services with a basalt quarry and asphalt plant in the Mendips and a state-of-the-art urban plant in Avonmouth. Avonmouth Asphalt plant uses renewable energy and heat exchange technology, and is set up to make use of Recycled Asphalt Products (RAP). Jody Bennett, Asphalt Business Manager from John Wainwright will give an overview of how one of the most energy hungry production plants in Avonmouth has made huge steps forward with its carbon reduction, sustainability and plans for further reductions and savings in the future. Local Plan Consultations open now

All three of our local authorities across Portbury Avonmouth Severnside have Local Plans out for consultation at the moment. These plans have a significant influence on what is able to be developed across the area and land use policy; and we would encourage you to engage with them if you can. North Somerset Council (NSC) NSC’s Local Plan 2039 info pageNSC’s plan is more advanced than the others, and is now in what is known as the Pre-submission plan (reg 19) consultation period. A Vision for Severnside – Severnside Masterplan. We encourage you to take a look and comment

South Glos. Council is working with the local community, town and parish councils, and businesses, on a strategic infrastructure led masterplan for Severnside.The aim of the masterplan is to develop a locally informed vision to help shape the future of Severnside in the medium and long term, up to 2050. It will build on all of the different strengths that the area has. The plan is now in its public engagement phase and we encourage you to take a look and comment before the 24th July 2022.
