Essential works to carry out carriageway patch repairs at various locations will commence on 22 May for 3 nights westbound and from 30 May for 3 nights eastbound.
The work will be carried out at night between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00. Full carriageway closure.

M4 westbound closed from J22 Pilning to J23A Magor.
M48 westbound closed from J2 Newhouse to J23 Rogiet.This road must also be closed to prevent access to the roadworks area on the M4.
30/05/2023 – 02/06/2023
M4 eastbound closed from J23A Magor to J22 Pilning.
M48 eastbound closed from J23 Rogiet to J2 Newhouse. This road must also be closed to prevent access to the roadworks area on the M4.
In order to provide the necessary safety zones and minimise disruption and congestion to the travelling public, the works will be carried out at night.
Diversions
- Diverted traffic over 15ft in height will use M5 – M50 – A40 – A449.
- Diverted traffic under 15ft i height will use the A48 through Chepstow.
