Highways England (HE’s) works in April revealed unforeseen damage to concrete on the M5 junction18 interchange. A solution has now been developed to rectify this. The work needs to be done asap. This next phase of the programme includes replacing sections of concrete and installing new bridge joints. To ensure the concrete has a chance to cure properly it will be necessary to close a section of the interchange.

To minimise disruption the work will be carried out overnight over the course of 6 consecutive weekends starting on Fri. 8th Nov.
During the working week the carriageway will be open as usual.
Please note: these works will not affect the main Avonmouth Bridge which spans the River Avon.
