Virtual Business Breakfast – Thurs. 23th July 2020
We’d like to thank Joe Smith from Weston College for his presentation this morning (July 23rd) at July’s Virtual Business Breakfast. The opportunities for organisations to be supported through Apprenticeships, Traineeships and Industrial Placements have been given a boost through recent government announcements.

This morning’s breakfast was well attended via Zoom with a number of new faces including from Mabanaft, DigiLocal, Bell Group and S. Glos. Council’s skills team.
We also heard that The Avon Lodge Cafe in Third Way, acquired by Mabanaft, has recently had a facelift and is looking forward to meeting you in August when you can benefit from the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme (more on this soon).
Sam Marsh (SevernNet Sustainable Travel Officer) talked about continuing work to improve walking and cycling paths around the area, and work with Bristol City Council to identify key areas for maintenance. We’d like to thank Cllr Jo Sergeant for working with us on this to help clear up the important walking & cycling route – Lawrence Weston Road. If you use this route regularly, or know people who do, we’d love to hear from you

Paul Young told us about how LED Lights 4 You has adapted to the current situation and developed and launched an online LED Lighting design service.
We look forward to catching up with everyone again at September’s Business Breakfast.
