Bus 41 to be extended to Avonmouth Village and Kings Weston Lane from 2nd November 2014
There are significant changes to the route and timetable of Service 41 from 2 November 2014. The service will be extended beyond the current terminus in Avonmouth Village to Henbury or Cribbs Causeway via St Andrew’s Road and Kings Weston Lane before joining the Service 40 route at Long Cross and continuing through to Henbury or Cribbs Causeway. This route extension will deliver the following enhancements:
- Brand new bus service serving businesses in Avonmouth from the City Centre, Clifton, Sea Mills, Shirehampton, Lawrence Weston and Henbury
- New bus links to promote local employment opportunities
- Up to three additional buses an hour serving Henbury and Lawrence Weston
- Timetable designed to suit the majority of shift patterns with buses running from 0600 until 2200
- New evening and Sunday and Public Holiday timetable on Service 41, which has been requested by customers for a number of years
Monday to Saturday daytime, Service 41 will operate every 20 minutes between Broadmead and Henbury and Monday to Saturday evenings and all day on Sundays and Public Holidays, Service 41 will operate every 60 minutes between Broadmead and Cribbs Causeway.
Journeys towards Henbury and Cribbs Causeway will not serve the current bus stop at McLaren Road but will stop in St. Brendan’s Road.
Download the timetable here.
SevernNet comment: This new service is certainly welcomed … although there is likely to be a need to adjust the position of the bus stops to deliver the right balance between convenience for passengers and safety of all road users.
