Route 40 – have you tried it?
Do you know about Big Lemon’s no. 40 bus? After First bus’ route changes to the 3 and 4, a need arose to create a new a bus service to keep Avonmouth connected. The service is running from the Brentry Roundabout on Crow Lane, through Henbury and Lawrence Weston to Avonmouth, Farr Street. On schooldays there is also an afternoon school service from St Bede’s School to Cribbs Causeway via Station Road, Henbury. SEE TIMETABLES and route here
Use it or lose it! With funding in place for a limited time, the operator may only be able to continue the service if sufficient numbers use it. This WESTlocal route is an 18 month trial funded by the West of England Combined Authority and delivered in partnership with SevernNET.

New Regional Cycle Hub planned
Lawrence Weston looks set to benefit from a new regional cycle centre including “A 1km long, 6m wide closed loop cycling track allowing everyone to ride safely on a traffic free circuit, specially designed for youth series sports cycling at a regional and national level.”
The hub would be a place to learn to cycle and develop confidence with opportunities for fitness and wellbeing classes as well.

Lawrence Weston Rd completed
Sustrans and partners have completed improvement works to Lawrence Weston Road shared-use path, an important part of National Cycle Network Route 41. These improvements offer a whole host of benefits for those who walk, wheel and cycle. See our map to locate NCN 41.
New lighting has been installed along the route, making the route safer for those travelling at night. The route is also now restricted for motor vehicle access; the path has authorised access only with bollards at both ends. Sustrans has also worked to improve accessibility, removing path barriers in the underpass area.
Lawrence Weston Road is a valuable commuter route, connecting Lawrence Weston to Cabot Park businesses area and on towards Severn Beach and beyond. Upgrade your commute and give the Lawrence Weston Road path a try!
