Cycle into 2023! We have free adult cycling sessions on the Saturday 28th Jan, including Learn to Ride 10.00-11.00, Cycle Confidence 11.30-12.30 and a Guided bike ride on local quiet paths 1-3pm. Learn to Ride is suitable for complete beginners or those returning after a long break and bikes can be provided if needed.
Cycle Confidence will start off the road and we will help you develop good balance, control, signalling , braking and gear skills. We may be able to venture out onto a quiet road if the group wants. (more advanced on-road training is available by appointment.
The Guided Ride will use local paths to have a nice casual cycle and perhaps help you discover some new areas. We will either ride to Portishead for a coffee or to Blaise Castle.

Winter 2023: Lawrence Weston Rd (the path near St Bede’s that goes over motorway) will be closed from Monday 3rd Oct until Spring 2023 as part of exciting improvements for walking, wheeling and cycling, including resurfacing and lighting. Map: Click here for full screen.

01/07/2020 – 1 to 1 cycling lessons are now available to book to boost your confidence on a bike! Delivered in partnership with Severn Ride and Stride, Bristol City Council and Life Cycle. Social distancing will be maintained at all times. Contact us here
20/06/2020 – You can now let the council know what changes you’d like to see to help you walk and cycle more in Bristol! Their interactive map allows you to ‘add a point’ or, simply ‘like’ an existing suggestion. By adding your input to the map you can increase the chance of changes in your area. Click here to view
Examples include new cycle lanes or pavement widening to allow people to travel safely.😊 Everyone should be able to feel safe out on the roads! It would be great if we could make the roads friendlier for cycling and walking – for fitness, health, pollution reduction and a quieter, safer more enjoyable place to live.

15/05/2020 -We now have a fleet of bikes available to borrow for free for up to 3 months to make essential travel. If you need a bike to get to work, do shopping or make other essential journeys, please get in touch to register. Contact us here to register your interest.

8/04/2020 – TravelWest announce cycling support for key workers View here. This includes:
- Wheels to Work West are offering key workers a £100 discount off a refurbished bike
- Sully Cycles are offering all key workers a free bike service, along with a commuter jacket, helmet and a set of bike lights
- The Bristol Bike Project are offering 20% off everything to key workers
- The Electric Bike Shop are offering free bicycle checks and maintenance for key workers, all labour included
- Halfords are offering free bike services to NHS and emergency workers

28/03/2020 – CCTV Installed at Avonmouth and Severn Beach Stations
We have been working with GWR (Great Western Railway) and Severnside Community Rail Partnership to facilitate CCTV installation. Work is almost complete installing cameras at these location, making travel safer in the area and bike parking more secure!
